I am registered as a psychotherapist with the Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy College (HIPC) and as a counsellor with the Psychotherapeutic Counselling and Intersubjective Psychotherapy College (PCIPC) of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and abide by its Code of Ethics and Professional Practice. I was initially registered via the Member Organisation UK Association for Humanistic Psychology with whom I was also accredited but am now a Direct Member of UKCP via HIPC.

My training and experience in the fields of counselling and psychotherapy spans 30 years. This includes a transpersonal psychotherapy training with two of the developers of transpersonal psychology in the UK (Ian Gordon-Brown and Barbara Somers). Transpersonal psychotherapy integrates Jungian psychology (depth psychology) with mindfulness-based (or contemplative) perspectives, and theory and research in transpersonal psychology. This means that I am interested in working with the whole person in the context of a commitment to the therapeutic relationship, including dreams and where appropriate spiritual areas of life.

I am also trained in Brainspotting (BSP; Phases 1-3 and advanced training) for working with trauma with developer Dr. David Grand, and Positive Neuroplasticity Training (PNT) to increase resilience and wellbeing with Rick Hanson. Other training includes Somatic Trauma Therapy for Post-Traumatic Stress with Babette Rothschild, Prof. Paul Gilbert’s Compassion Focused Therapy, and the Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM) for the Treatment of Complex PTSD with developer Lisa Schwarz. These training pathways reflect my ongoing interest in resource-focused (also resource-based) modalities.

Areas of experience include: Anxiety (including climate anxiety), being lost in life, creativity, depression, identity, life direction and transition, loss and bereavement, meaning and purpose, relationships, personal development, spirituality, stress, trauma and PTSD.
